Celto-Roman Dragon Brooch

Dragons were worn by the Celts as  talismans believed to harness the positive forces of the four elements.

Our copy is from a first century AD brooch found in North Umbria (on the boarder of Scotland and England).  It is an example of Celtic creations made for the Roman army as exotic  souvenirs of their time spent in the wildest reaches of the empire.

It will make a Wow of a gift for any diehard Celt on your shopping list.  It's large size makes it perfect for coat or blazer.

Size 31/4" x 1 1/4"

Hand cast in sterling silver or plated pewter. Gift boxed with a history
